Some of you have asked to read my ministry project, which is the capstone project for my doctoral work at Southern Seminary. Not many read these projects, so I’m glad for any to read it who would like to.
This project would be helpful for: (1) anyone curious about it from Lake Hills, (2) any ministry leader wanting to learn about how one church considered changing from a one pastor/deacon board model to a plurality of elders, (3) anyone interested in doing a deep dive on what the Scripture says about a plurality of elders, or (4) anyone wanting to learn more about various models of church polity I cover in chapter 3.
The project contains five chapters. The first is an overview of my assessment of Lake Hills before the project started and why I found it helpful to pursue the project for the church. The second looks at the biblical grounds for plurality of elders. The third looks at three models of church government that I call “over-reaches.” The fourth and fifth chapters are less “meaty” and describe how I implemented the project (chapter 4) and my assessment of the project (chapter 5).
Feel free to skip around to find anything interesting to you. If any of you want to talk about what I’ve written, I’d love to. Just reach out via the “contact” page, text me, or talk in person if you’re a Lake Hiller.
Blessings to all!
