Hey church family,
Last week I briefly mentioned that the deacons and I were discussing and researching organizations that are doing relief work in the Ukraine in case the Lord has laid it on your heart to give.
We looked at a few organizations and have decided to recommend Samaritan’s Purse. We have worked with Samaritan’s Purse in the past when they set up a location in our building to help people whose basements were flooded back in 2015 (?).
They have set up an emergency field hospital in western Ukraine and have “140 disaster relief specialists on the ground between Ukraine, Poland, Romania, and Moldova” (read more here).
Certainly there are many organizations that are doing good work that you are free to give to if you so choose. We recommend Samaritan’s Purse because of our familiarity with them which has led us to know that they will (1) do excellent work and (2) do so in the name of Jesus and with the end goal of sharing the gospel.
We will not be taking up an offering at the church. If you’d like to give, do so directly with Samaritan’s Purse. Here is a link.
May the Lord accomplish His purposes and bring an end to the suffering in Ukraine.
