Father in heaven, may your name be revered above every name in this next hour as we remember one of your dear saints, Diane. May your kingdom come and your will be done through every word spoken, memory revisited, and tear shed.
We thank you, Father, for Diane Perkola. We know that every good gift comes from above. And while Diane was only human like the rest of us, we enjoyed knowing her. We know the relationships we had with her were gifts from you. So, thank you.
Of course, God, the most important relationship we can have is with you through your Son, Jesus. Those of us who have your Spirit living in us enjoyed a special relationship with Diane because we saw the light of Christ in her regularly. She was and is our sister in Christ. And that is due to your grace and kindness too, Father.
Now we have gathered to remember her, to mourn, and for those of us who belong to you, to rejoice in your promises. Thank you for welcoming her into your presence through the merit of Jesus. Thank you for helping her faith endure. Thank you for the joy she is experiencing. Thank you for the cancer-free body you will give her when Jesus returns. That you that many of us do not have to mourn as those do who have no hope. Thank you for the glad reunion day that awaits us in Christ.
Please, holy Father, give your peace to her family and those who may as well have been family. May your presence be felt for the rest of this service, and may the glory go to you and your Son, Jesus.
