Church, We Must Gather In Person (Part 2)

I stated in part one that my goal in this series of posts is to show why gathering together in person is one of the most important things a Christian could ever do in life. In each post, I will give one reason.

The second reason gathering together with other Christians is one of the most important things a Christian will ever do in life is:

2. Because it is one of the best ways to experience heaven on earth.

Read Revelation 19:6

Then I heart what seemed to be the voice of a great multitude, like the roar of many waters and like the sound of mighty peals of thunder, crying out, ‘Hallelujah! For the Lord our God the Almighty reigns . . .’

Notice that John did not see individuals lifting up their voices privately. He saw “a great multitude” lifting their voices as one. This is impossible to do through a screen.

As I currently understand it, this part of John’s vision happens before the new earth and the descent of heaven on that new earth. But the point I’m making remains: if we, as God’s people, will find perfect joy in God’s presence in heaven together, then one of the best ways to experience it in this age is to regularly rejoice in what Christ has done together.

Church, we must gather in person.
