For any who haven’t heard, we are looking for a Pastor of Music, plus another area of ministry or two. Read more about that here. As of the writing of this post, the search team is yet to have our first meeting.
This past Sunday we handed out postcards to remind everyone to pray. But how should we pray for this? Here are my suggestions:
- Ask Jesus to give the pastor He wants for us (Ephesians 4:11).
- Ask the Lord to help the search team (Bill DeRuiter, Rowena Iwema, Laila Ogden, Judson Schmucker and me) exhibit Ephesians 4:1-3 during this process.
- Pray for our current musicians and leaders to fit perfectly with the incoming Pastor and to find it easy to submit to his leadership.
- Pray for our entire church family to be willing to embrace this man and his family as one of our pastors.
- Pray that this man and his family would have a long, fruitful ministry among us.
- Pray that this man would have great chemistry with me, Pastor Adam, staff, and deacons.
- Pray the Lord would provide for his family in every way.
- Pray the Lord would unite this man and his wife in this decision and guard their marriage.
- Pray that in everything, the Lord Jesus would receive all the glory.
