Fellow member of Central Oaks Shannon Arthur texted me this poem yesterday. I asked her if I could share it on today’s blog and she said yes. I thought it would be an encouragement for all of you—and especially those of you that pray for our sister Shannon.
Without further adieu, here is “Surrender:”
As the water rushes by,
removing sediment,
changing the shape of the rock--
so the Word of God pours over me,
removing sediment,
reshaping me into the vessel
He created me to be.
I must learn to be still
In total surrender,
Trusting Him wholly.
Then His Word,
His Grace,
His Mercy,
His Love!
Will wash over me as water over rocks--
shaping me into His likeness,
shaping me into His purpose.
In His Timing,
By His Power,
To His Glory.
Thank you for letting me share this, Shannon.
